Improving Whole School Attendance by meeting the needs of the school and individual learners
We work in partnership with schools to increase attendance through our virtual learning platform. If increasing your attendance is a priority, we can certainly help. We pride ourselves on breaking down barriers to learning for students with a wide range of different issues.
Testimonial from Springwell Lincolnshire (PRU):
"For many of our students, anxiety creates a barrier to their learning, but with Edvirtual, the pressure to perform in front of peers is removed, which has meant that for two particular students attendance has gone from virtually nothing to 80% plus, which has, of course, also raised their attainment dramatically. The interface for the students is very user-friendly, and they actively enjoy their lessons, even those who have previously hated school."
Students and schools lose out on attendance for an array of reasons:
- Mental health
- Chronic Fatigue
- Long-term health issues
- Broken bones and injury
- School refuser
Our online learning platform means you can have any of these students accessing a tutor and a timetable within minutes of being absent from school for whatever reason. We have numerous safeguarding tools in operation so that while they are online, there is more safeguarding in place than if they were just sat at home. They can follow your school's learning cycle and study subjects they are doing at school. The reporting system tracks all working time vs 'idle time' so you can adhere to the DFE guidelines with a view to Alternative Provision attendance and choose to allocate the attendance code or not.
Working with EDLounge you can:
- Reduce suspensions and exclusions and lower persistent absenteeism
- Enable learners to have the opportunity to work independently
- Expand disengaged students' knowledge and understanding in a range of subjects
- Enable learners to work in a relaxed and enjoyable environment through interactive learning approaches
- Improve behaviour, motivation and attendance whilst promoting fun learning
- Enable teaching staff to track, monitor and view graphical data of a learner's progress in English, maths, science and other subjects
- Award learners with ATTENDANCE grades whilst completing lessons with live online support – the platform tracks 'idle' time online and time 'in learning'
In the amended version of the DFE document, 'health needs' are discussed and our platform meets this criterion, helping learners engage/re-engage with education and make progress with an overall aim: to return to school. Download DFE Document Key sections are from section 25; and section 32 discusses the health needs of learners.
Most schools are looking to increase attendance and we can help. Book your demonstration today, it's done online through screen share. You'll be surprised at how EDLounge can benefit many aspects of your daily school life.
Regular attendance and participation in schooling is an important factor in educational and life success. Students who are regular non-attenders are at risk of alienation from education that can lead to decreased options for future learning opportunities.
EDLounge is a great tool for motivating and for creating a positive learning system with live, online support, for learners who may be non–attenders for many reasons.
Your organisation can use the Virtual Classroom and support within EDLounge to gain attendance. Create individualised programmes and learning pathways for your learners to follow which can match your specific schemes of work and units of study.
We work in partnership with academies and educational establishments to ensure comprehensive levels of safeguarding, supervision and monitoring. We also track attendance, grades achieved and progress, for groups and individuals.
